My Ancestors Were From the Promised Land

By Debra Katz Milgrim-Heath

I hope that you really try to understand
My ancestors were from the Promised Land.

They were high priests in the temples I know
Singers in the temple during that time so long ago.

Aaron being first on my family tree
Miriam and Moses being his siblings we see!

The most important city in the bible we love
Is Jerusalem that we mostly think of.

Where the dates grow so big & tasty to eat
And the honey is pure and so sweet.

Most oranges there are so very big
So crunchy are many a fig!

Being in the Dead Sea cures our ails
As God’s cureall it never fails.

Still seeing the holy wailing wall
Standing mighty and so tall.

Many cities there the prophets did teach
To many people they did reach.

I must be really allowed
To say my ancestors were extremely proud.

I hope that you really try to understand.
My ancestors were from the Promised Land.
