The People Triumphant

By Michael Druck © 2010

We are the people, triumphant,
in every corner and land.

We, who are small in number,
last, learn Torah, and stand.

We the people, triumphant,
carry the words of G-d,
on shoulders laden with Torah,
onward and gladly we trod.

We the people, triumphant,
are consumed by the nature of our being.

Enthralled by what G-d has given us,
holiness, that is secure and serene.

We are the people, triumphant,
no matter what nations think or might say.
G-d smiles and knows,
Meshiach will come on a day.

We are the people, triumphant,
moved by the hand of G-d,
in our land, He gave to us;
with its monuments, waters and sod.

So it is, as it was written.

So it is, as it is true.

G-d deemed us triumphant;
we, His people, the Jews.

Centuries have proven the fact.

Centuries will have proven the dream.

We, who are small in our numbers,
are triumphant,
for it is G-d, Who has deemed
our immortality.
